Complete 4 Piece Set of BC Mediums - Especially Designed for Reborning - 10 gram Jars
Protective varnish with textured finishes.
BC Varnishes have mixtures of two different resins, one that adds fixation and mattifying , and another of them provides extraordinary flexibility,
which means that whitish effects do not appear or that this final layer can break.
The Semi-Matte and Satin &Thick varnishes cure quickly in the air, so it is VERY advisable to follow the instructions for use that you can see here: (Video link for use).
Although BC Heat Set varnishes air cure, they WILL NOT SET until after baking and once COMPLETELY COOL.
For greater ease of work, dilute the varnish with a few drops of water in a separate container until you achieve a suitable texture for your work. MOVE WELL until you get a perfect mixture.
It is advisable to work in small areas and move on to the next one to be able to control air curing. Whitish effects between zones will disappear after firing.
It is advisable to use clean sponges for each application. WORK ONLY while the varnish is fresh on the vinyl, so it is important to work in small areas.
KEEP THE JAR CLOSED for proper preservation of the product as it can cure with prolonged contact in the air.
It is recommended to always keep the varnish moist to avoid air curing.
BC products require proper storing in PET/PETG or Glass containers.
Do not expose to extreme cold or freezing temperatures, as it could be damaged. Do not expose to direct sunlight, keep in a cool place.
Cleaning brushes and sponges with soap and water
Free of phthalates, heavy metals and formaldehyde.
Curing temperature: 130ºC (266ºF) - 9 minutes (it is recommended to bake both sides of the vinyl)
Do not panic! The Matte varnish remains whitish until it cures in the air, after baking they disappear. The less diluted the layer is in water, the less texture you will have. With layers more diluted in water, the varnish will be easier to work with. DO NOT touch the white remains once the varnish is air-cured, as we can damage it, just remove excesses between folds and the other white remains will disappear after the oven!
THINNING MEDIUM -
Medium for dilution of BC Heat paints Set. For greater ease of work and easier to make color glazes, you can add a few drops of liquid solvent. If used undiluted it can create a thicker texture for 3d effects .
Wet Effect -
Exterior wet effect varnish. DO NOT CURE OR AIR DRY. Adheres completely once baked and COLD COMPLETELY after baking.
Provides shine to moist areas of the skin, ideal for lips, eyes, nails, inside the ears or tear duct.
The gloss will go down once baked, so you can add as many layers as you like once baked and cool.

* Please Note:
Thinning Medium and Wet Effect Can Only Be Diluted with Liquid Solvent.
Semi-Matte and Satin & Thick Varnishes Can Only Be Diluted with a Little Water (no other product).
BC Paints are NOT Genesis paints, nor are the means, so you must adapt your technique and ways of use to a new product!
BC Heat Set Paints and media are fully set once baked and completely COLD. You shouldn't paint or manipulate the hot pieces badly to not damage your work.
Bake the paints and media at 130/135ºC (266ºF) - 9 minutes (it is recommended to bake both sides of the vinyl) (bake with the face up )
BC paints have more pigment than Genesis and you will have to move the paint more if you work only with liquid solvent. It is advisable to add some Thinning Medium BC to your mix
BC Paints and medium give more shine in the painting process, but will fade in the varnish or final layers of texture
BC thinning is denser so you can have multiple products in one!
- Textured printing Before color
- Thinning medium more liquid by adding liquid solvent until you find the texture you like
- Final layer real skin texture (you can add after matte varnish if you want to shade)
Varnishes are great if you know how to work with them! They are amazing only if you follow these steps:
- NEVER rub fresh varnish on the baby, because the varnish has very very strong fixing agents that cling to nothing but touch a surface, if you drag it with a rag or rub with sponge to drag it and try to remove it , you will drag too your work!!
- Test on some vinyl beforehand to get the texture and see the white scraps disappear smoothly when air-dried and baked afterwards
- Work in small areas and do not pay attention to white debris, they will disappear, if you try to remove them you will not get the result you want
- Change sponge in the process , varnish can heal on the sponge and you can leave unwanted residues . If this happens don't remove them until after baking
- Use a dry and clean brush to remove creases
- Do not overwork each area, hue with a sponge and move on to the next area. If you do this, after baking and cold completely.
